But Victory Day’s significance is one of those lasting values that have never been challenged – neither in the USSR nor in today’s Russia.”

Defence Attache of the Embassy of Russia Col. Dmitrii Priimachuk noted that preserving the historical memory was crucially important for prevention of world war tragedies. The diplomat emphasized that radical right movements were regrettably lifting heads in today’s Europe with neo-Nazi marches already being held in the capitals of European countries.

Having recalled heroism of Soviet people, the guest underlined that the Great Patriotic War victory was critical for struggling against the Nazism.
