On Awarding the Title of the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation to Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation S.Lavrov

President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding the Title of the Hero of Labour of the Russian Federation to Minister of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. The Minister received this high title for special merits to the state and people, the decree notes.

Head of Russian diplomacy passed all levels in his career – from a trainee in the Embassy of the USSR in Sri Lanka in 1972 to the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation in 2004. S.Lavrov has run the Russian Foreign Ministry already for over 16 years – the longest term in office in modern Russian history, during which he has visited more than 130 countries. One of global diplomacy veterans, S.Lavrov is known for his professionalism, principality and erudition.

On 21 March this year the Minister marked his 70 anniversary.
