Moscow will host the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors
On June 14-27, 2022, Moscow will host the Rachmaninoff International Competition for Pianists, Composers and Conductors. Following three main specialties in the life and work of Sergei Rachmaninoff, the competition has three nominations: piano, composition and conducting.
The Rachmaninoff Competition was founded in 2021 by the Government of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation ahead of the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff and the Year of Music in 2023.
Over 500 applications were submitted for the competition from 33 countries: Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Cuba, France, Georgia, Germany, Great Britain, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, LPR, Mongolia, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, USA, Uzbekistan.
