On 30 March 2016 Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Africa Mikhail Petrakov visited the SABC Head Office in Johannesburg where a meeting with SABC Acting CEO Jimi Matthews and CFO James Aguma took place.

The Sides exchanged information and opinions on various bilateral and multilateral projects including BRICS ‪initiatives, and had an in-depth discussion on how to further enhance Russia-SA media cooperation.
