The international BRICS youth camp took place in eco-park «Russkiy Bereg» and held in three shifts from September 9 to September 28.

The purpose of the Camp was to promote further development of practice-oriented cooperation between youth leaders and organizations of the BRICS countries. Its programme included expert sessions on volunteering, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Young entrepreneurs from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa had participated in the First shift - Business Accelerator - where they developed three projects aimed at promoting the development of youth startups. These include: organizing the 2nd BRICS Business Accelerator (with the main goal being the establishment of contacts between young representatives of BRICS business community); holding the TOP 100 Young Entrepreneurs of BRICS Award with the support of «OPORA ROSSII» organization; creating the BRICS Direct Investment Foundation. According to the plan, the Foundation shall provide financial aid to public-private and commercial projects.

As for the Second shift, the Laboratory of Creative Industries, it was an interesting experience for young architects, designers and urbanists. They were developing the concept of the BRICS Smart city-park which would be deployed in the territory of the «Russkiy Bereg» eco-park. The city-park would become a new model of residential space that meets the needs of young people in the area of education, creativity, leisure and employment.

On last day of the shift, four projects were submitted by the teams for experts’ consideration. The teams work was focused mainly on the ways of preserving the territory’s natural landscape, using of natural materials in construction, applying the BRICS countries’ cultural codes, as well as providing the city with «green energy».

The participants of the Camp generated various creative ideas: from creation of a medical center in the city-park to launch of the BRICS Digital Museum ran by artificial intelligence. It was proposed to supply the «Smart City» with energy generated at both cold nuclear fusion installations and through walking activities of residents. All the pruposed solutions will be thoroughly examined in by relevant departments and organizations and taken into account when developing the general plan of the city.

The Third shift, held for young volunteers, saw exchange of experience of working in the conditions of the pandemic and compilation of a list reflecting the main challenges and problems for the younger generation. Proposals for the development of the international volunteer movement were presented.

On the closing day of the camp, the participants laid the foundation for the future BRICS Smart city-park. Another result of the camp's work was the signing of the «Roadmap» of youth projects for 2022 and the Futurological Charter «Smart Civilization» reflecting the main values and development vectors of international cooperation of youth.
