President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at the 10th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg

On 25-27 July Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in 10th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg. On the first day of the Summit, the BRICS leaders discussed the ways for further development of cooperation in priority areas. The summit agenda also included the coordination of actions on regional matters, including the situation in Syria and the Middle East as a whole, as well as the settlement of issues concerning the Korean Peninsula and Iran’s nuclear programme. The leaders have a signed a series of documents, including the Johannesburg Declaration.

On the second day of the Summit, BRICS leaders participated in the held working meetings on BRICS development issues and strategic partnership priorities, as well as a separate outreach meeting with invited representatives of several African countries and the current chairs of a number of international associations. Vladimir Putin also held talks with heads of foreign states.
