On festive events dedicated to the Diplomats Day 2019

The Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Africa hosted a series of events on the occasion of Diplomats Day.

On 18 January a stage play dedicated to Diplomats Day and performed by the Embassy staff was premiered. The evening went off well, in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

On 30 January - 6 February a Photo exhibition of Russian Ambassador Mikhail Petrakov took place in Johannesburg. During the opening ceremony the Ambassador delivered his welcome remarks, underscoring the long-standing creative traditions of Russian diplomacy, and conducted a short guided tour for guests of the exhibition.

On 7-8 February football and volleyball tournaments were organized for the Russian Embassy staff. The winners were presented with token prizes.

In addition, on 8 February an open lesson, including a lecture delivered by Embassy’s senior diplomats and a small concert performed by pupils on the occasion of the Diplomats Day, was organized at the Russian Embassys’s School.

On 13 February Russian Embassy hosted a function dedicated to the Diplomat’s Day, which included the viewing of a congratulatory video message by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Ambassador Petrakov addressed the audience, extending gratitude to the Embassy staff for the work done last year and wishing them new professional achievements.
